DIRECTIONS FOR DRIVING FROM PUERTO VALLARTA AIRPORT (Set your odometer to zero!)

(KM 0.0 / MILE 0.0) Turn left (North) out of the airport parking area. You will be on Route 200 and will follow this highway 91km / 54.6mi to the center of Las Varas.

(KM 18.0 / MILE 11.2) Pass through Bucerias

(KM 22.1 / MILE 13.7) Pass the Punta Mita turnoff, cemetery on right, information booth on left.

(KM 67.5 / MILE 41.9) Pass Rincon de Guayabitos. You will see a tall flying saucer-shaped water tower to the left, and another visitor information complex, also on the left.

(KM 90.1 / MILE 56) Enter Las Varas. Bear right on the "lateral" (service road). This is where everyone misses the turn-off, so STAY ALERT. Stay on the service road until you reach a left-turn sign, at a traffic signal, saying "Zacualpan."

(KM 91.1 / MILE 56.6)  Turn left at the traffic signal for San Blas and Zacualpan.

(KM 99.7 / MILE 62.5) Enter Zacualpan - lots of speed bumps.

(KM 100.7 / MILE 62.5) Turn left at the sign (there may or may not be a sign) for San Blas, just before the Town Plaza on left and Church on right. Leave the town, going down a hill, acorss a little white bridge. Bear right. Follow signs that say "Mazatlan" or "San Blas."

(KM 103.7 / MILE 64.4) Pass through San Isidro. Two BIG speed bumps.

(KM 107.8 / MILE 67) Bear right at the Y (stop sign), toward Aticama & San Blas. You are passing the town of Ixtapa. You have 7.4 miles or 12KM to go.

Take care not to turn into Turtle Beach.

(KM 119.7 / MILE 74.4) You are at Platanitos. Take the cobbled road down a steep hill to the left and continue straight past the thatched restaurants on your right and continue up the hill. Punta El Custodio is 1/2 mile up a new dirt road. You will come to a brick compound wall, a sign, and a double iron entry gate.
